Poll: Themes

I'm trying to gather more information about what people want to see in a story.

Keep in mind if the community becomes very popular, we'll probably do a story of every kind eventually!

1. Which type of story would you like for a round robin? Some examples are:
- Silly and fun
- Adventure and friendship
- Romance or Fairy Tales
- Angst or Drama

2. What type of setting would you like to see? Modern, historical, or fantasy?

3. What's your opinion on "brand whoring" in a story? Leet, shallow, or old-hat?

4. What's your opinion on adult themes like sex and drugs? How about adult (ie explicit) content?

5. What do you think about limiting the types of lolita styles found in a story? For example, "gothic outfits only".

6. Let me know anything else about the themes of a story that aren't covered here.

1. Adventure and romance.

2. Steampunk [or just a sort of combo of modern & historical influences], fantasy, historical.

3. Not necessarily shallow, but definitely boring as hell. I'd prefer a story about someone who makes their own dresses or finds them from unique places rather than "and I bought my sixth AP dress this month..."

4. I think that adult-content chapters or stories should be members-only locked and cut with a big warning, but I think they should be allowed to a certain point. Perhaps nothing over PG-13/mild R. Definitely no citrus, please.

5. I think limiting the styles in a story is kind of a weird idea unless it's appropriate to the story itself [such as a lack of Sweet Lolita in a Steampunk or Gothic setting, or an emphasis on Classic in a historical setting]. I also think it would be a good idea to make tags listing the styles featured along with the themes of the story.

(Yes, I'm watching this comm like a hawk.)

1 and 2 are noted and noted.

3. Lucky for you, the first story involves a girl who makes her own stuff. (Or it will, once I post it.)

4. I certainly agree with member-locking adult-themed posts, and will definately implement it in the future. I personally am open to everything content-wise, but I plan to go with the general lemon opinion. (Maybe there'll be a special side-comm for X stuff if people won't drop it, lol.)

I am also a big fan of putting proper content and warning labels (like on fanfics), and will be doing so on stories and in tags.

5. As above, I'm a big fan of tags. Putting styles and themes as tags is a good idea, too. I'll do that. Makes searching for what you want easier.

1. Friendship, fairy tales, drama (but not angst)

2. Historical, steampunk, and light, historically-based fantasy. (i.e. fantasy world resembling medieval europe, fantasy world resembling 18th cent. france etc., not too many wild dungeons and dragon's type influences.)

3. I think it would depend on the characters in the story. If it's a definite part of a character's personality, let them babble on about brand all they want. For the most part, I'm more interested in the story than the in's and outs of everything people wear in it.

4. Seconding the member-lock idea.

5. Just depends on the story.

1. - Modern Mystery, fairytale, light drama, weird and silly

2. -Modern, fantasy, historical, alter net universe

3. I can see a character 'brandwhoreing' in a modern setting, but other then that...
It doesn't make sense to have a 'brandwhoreing' character that is in a setting that is set before the 1970's or in alternate universe/fantasy

4. Personally, I think drug use is not so explicit that it deserves a lock. Sex is another story. I believe if the story is 'more then' hinting a sex scene; member-lock it.

5. Weird question. It just depends on the story.
